Austin and Nina have known each other for as long as they can remember. Despite growing up nearly 1,000 miles apart, their friendship blossomed during Nina’s yearly visits to Kentucky to see her Dad, which always included spending time with the Douglas family. It wasn't until the Fall of 2020 that they decided to turn their friendship into something more, and by the Spring of 2021 they were in love.

From the very beginning of their relationship, traveling together has been a significant part of their lives. Despite the long-distance nature of their relationship in the beginning—with Nina commuting between Dallas, TX and Bardstown, KY, while Austin moved around for his final school rotations before becoming a physical therapist, they made it work. Within the first year they lived in 3 different cities together and continued to travel and make new memories in places they had never been before.

In the Fall of 2024, Austin took their love story to the next level. On October 4th, under the guise of a family photoshoot by the creek where they played as kids, he got down on one knee and asked Nina to spend forever with him. To Nina's complete surprise he arranged all her closest friends and family to be there afterwards for an unforgettable weekend of love and celebration.

Now, with a shared passion for traveling and a love of sharing those experiences with family and friends, Austin and Nina have chosen the stunning beach location of Atelier Playa Mujeres, Cancun for their wedding. On April 19th, 2026, they will celebrate the start of their forever, surrounded by the people they cherish the most. They have planned a beautiful ceremony, followed by a reception filled with laughter, dancing, and delicious food. The couple hopes to create an unforgettable experience for everyone, filled with joy and love.
